What Parameters is for
Parameters shows the exact typed parameter vector retained for a Strategy Run Output. It is also the single Results surface for turning a reviewed run into a new Strategy Version or a reusable Study Preset.
Portfolio runs do not receive a fake Parameters tab. Their version, weights, allocation, admission, and risk settings remain in the Portfolio-specific pages.
Verify the retained vector
Before reusing anything, confirm:
- Run Output id;
- exact source Strategy id and immutable version;
- parameter name, type, and retained value;
- parent Study and candidate identity when applicable;
- Dataset, market inputs, and execution assumptions; and
- whether every value can be represented by the current Strategy definition.
Parameter names and meanings belong to the source Strategy version. A matching label in another version does not prove compatible semantics.
Save as a Strategy Version
Use Save as Strategy Version when the retained parameter vector should become a deliberate new version of the Strategy.
- Open the exact Run Output and review its Parameters.
- Start Save as Strategy Version.
- Review the source version, current Strategy version, and semantic diff.
- Confirm the proposed parameter changes and version note.
- Publish through the normal Strategy version owner.
Results does not store a second Strategy snapshot or silently update the existing version. Saving always uses the established Strategy version-history workflow.
If the run came from an older Strategy version, the diff begins from that historical source. It never silently rebases the retained parameters onto the newest version.
Save as a Study Preset
Use Save as Study Preset to retain the complete Study setup behind the selected Strategy run:
- exact Strategy Version;
- parameter values;
- market and data inputs;
- execution and cost assumptions;
- Study method and axes;
- Summary or Robust analysis depth; and
- Compact or Interactive retained-detail profile.
The action first saves or resolves the exact Strategy Version, then creates a normal named Study Preset through the existing preset owner. It does not change an unsaved Study draft merely because the preset was saved. Use the explicit open or apply action when you are ready to load it.
When reuse is blocked
The save actions remain unavailable with a corrective reason when:
- the selected record is not a Strategy Run Output;
- source Strategy lineage cannot be read;
- the parameter vector is incomplete or incompatible with Strategy IR;
- the originating Study Design is unavailable for preset creation; or
- exact version history cannot be resolved safely.
Do not recreate missing values from a filename, a leaderboard position, or the current Strategy defaults. Open the parent Study Result or rerun with the required lineage retained.
Compare parameter changes responsibly
Parameter changes are only one possible cause of a different outcome. Preserve the Strategy version, data, time window, execution model, costs, and Study context beside any comparison. Use Study Results for parameter surfaces and candidate stability; use Parameters for the exact promoted run and its controlled reuse.
