Navigation, shortcuts, and control map

Find each primary destination, Data/System/Studies/Results/Live tab, command-palette target, keyboard pattern, layout control, route-memory behavior, and control-state meaning.

App path

  • Workstation primary navigation and destination page tabs
  • Top bar -> Open command palette
  • Workstation actions -> Reset layout

Read the workstation in layers

Arizmic uses a consistent five-layer control model:

  1. Primary navigation changes the major product owner.
  2. Page tabs change the workflow surface inside that owner.
  3. Main workspace holds the table, editor, chart, form, or evidence view.
  4. Inspector describes and acts on the selected object.
  5. Top bar exposes page refresh/panel actions and global workstation tools.

The AI Companion is a cross-cutting dock, not a sixth domain owner. It does not replace Save, Validate, Estimate, Queue, Approve, Arm, or confirmation in the owning surface.

Primary navigation map

GroupDestinationUse it for
Strategy ResearchSignalsBrowse calculation contracts, inspect inputs/outputs/readiness, build outputs where exposed, sync or hand a Signal to Strategy authoring
Strategy ResearchStrategiesBrowse exact Strategies and Configurations, author in Composer, inspect source/IR/readiness, export/import Library definitions
Strategy ResearchPortfolioCompose exact Configuration occurrences under allocation, capital, admission, conflict, and risk policy
Strategy ResearchStudiesDesign and queue Strategy or Portfolio research; open parent Study Results
Strategy ResearchResultsBrowse and inspect canonical Run Outputs across Strategy and Portfolio subjects
WorkstationData ManagerImport and govern Datasets, inspect Prepared Data, and access stored-object utilities
WorkstationLiveConfigure connections/risk/deployments and inspect runtime decisions, orders, reconciliation, and activity within current capability gates
WorkstationNotebooksCreate/open/stop local Marimo files and inspect workspace health
WorkstationSystem & JobsOperate durable Jobs, benchmarks, System Settings, credentials/connections, AI models, and build information
WorkstationActivity LogReview durable and current-session operational events, filters, notifications, and exports

The active destination is highlighted. Collapse the left rail for space and expand it to restore labels. On narrow windows, open it from the top bar as a drawer.

Data Manager tabs

TabRoute purpose
CatalogBrowse immutable Datasets, inspect identity, coverage, quality, lineage, activation, groups, and lifecycle actions
Import LocalInspect a local source, author mapping, validate a sample, queue a durable import, and activate the accepted candidate
Import APISelect an eligible provider/schema, author a request, estimate/read readiness, queue, and recover provider downloads/imports
Prepared DataSearch reusable and Study-owned Prepared objects; inspect kind, Dataset lineage, coverage, state, retention, groups, and build lineage
Stored RunsLegacy/utility access to stored Run records; prefer canonical Results for current Run Output interpretation
Stored StudiesLegacy/utility access to stored Study records; prefer Studies Results for current parent-result interpretation
Study PresetsLocal/browser authoring presets and templates where exposed; presets are not queued Studies or retained evidence

The session remembers the last accepted Data Manager tab. Returning through primary navigation can therefore reopen that tab.

System & Jobs tabs

TabUse it for
JobsQueue lifecycle, progress, attempts, blockers, telemetry, cancel, pause/resume, retry and expected publication identity
BenchmarksBounded local benchmark definitions, runs, comparison envelopes, imports/exports and limitations
System SettingsSystem Profile, storage/data root, IO retest, timezone, settings, diagnostics and workstation checks
Data API KeysHistorical-data provider credential references and status—not AI or broker secrets
Broker ConnectionsBroker provider/environment connections, accounts, Instruments and certification evidence—not historical provider import
AI ModelsAI provider/model connections, model selection and tests—not broker or data credentials
InformationApplication/interface/API identity, version and support information

System & Jobs also remembers its last accepted tab during the current session.

Studies route and view map

Studies has two subjects and two primary tabs:

SubjectDesignResults
StrategyBind exact Strategy/data, choose Solo/Grid/Random/Optuna and supported topology/fidelity/evidence, validate/estimate/queueOverview, Leaderboard, Parameter Surface, Robustness, Diagnostics, Artifacts
PortfolioBind exact Portfolio and member inputs, choose Run/Optimization, author candidate axes, validate/estimate/queueOverview, Candidate Set, Admission, Run Outputs, Artifacts, Validation/Evidence, Diagnostics

Studies routes can retain exact Strategy/Portfolio/version, Dataset, Study or Portfolio Result identity and selected view. Read those values after following a deep link; a selected subject does not guarantee the object still exists or is current.

Results tab map

Results can filter All, Strategy, or Portfolio and select one exact Run Output. Tabs appear only when relevant to the selected subject/evidence.

TabPrimary question
OverviewWhat exact request, subject, data, window, fidelity, status, and lineage produced this output?
ChartWhat bounded retained series or chart metadata is available?
PerformanceWhich canonical KPIs are available, in what units and scope?
ParametersWhich exact Configuration/candidate and values executed?
Positions & TradesWhich retained positions and bounded closed-trade rows exist?
Monte Carlo & RobustnessWhich retained statistical evidence is applicable and available?
Evidence / ValidationWhich capabilities, artifacts, blockers, limitations, and evidence claims are supported?
Portfolio PolicyWhich effective allocation, priority, policy changes, counterfactuals, and stresses applied?
Strategy AttributionWhat occurrence-level contribution and arithmetic diagnostics were retained?
Admission & ConflictsHow were Portfolio intents admitted, clipped, rejected, suppressed, or conflicted?
Risk & ExposureWhat Portfolio risk/exposure path and limits were retained?
DiagnosticsWhich execution/publication phases, timings, warnings, and operational facts were recorded?
OutputsWhich typed artifacts and integrity/status facts exist?

A route can include a selected trade-row index. Treat it as a bounded reader selection, not an immutable trade citation unless the retained identity and row contract are also recorded.

Live tabs

TabScope
DeploymentsCreate/edit/select an exact deployment and read validation gates
MonitorSelected deployment/session, financial scope, risk, positions, runtime health, readiness, alerts, reconciliation, and operating actions
OrdersOrder rows and fill evidence for the selected scope
DecisionsStrategy decisions, block reasons, would-submit/submission lineage
RiskRisk profiles, limits, selected deployment policy and current risk state
ActivityLive-scoped alerts, events, operator actions and durable timeline

Older overview, positions, reconciliation, or operator_tools Live links canonicalize to Monitor; fills canonicalizes to Orders; alerts and events canonicalize to Activity. Canonicalization changes navigation form, not feature availability.

Signals, Strategies, Portfolio, and Notebooks controls

These destinations use internal tabs, modes, tables, inspectors, or segmented controls rather than separate primary routes for every state.

  • Signals: Library selection, exact Signal/version inspection, declarations, output/readiness context, sync and Strategy handoff.
  • Strategies: Strategy Library, Composer, exact Configuration/version, source/IR/testing/readiness, and Library package controls.
  • Portfolio: Portfolio Library, Inspector, Composer, read-only render, Study handoff, groups, and exact pir4: history.
  • Notebooks: workspace health, create form, Existing files, embedded Marimo session, and Stop. Current Context strings are not bindings.

Always distinguish selecting/opening from mutating. A row click or tab change does not save, execute, install, publish, or deploy.

Command palette

Open Top bar -> Open command palette, or use:

PlatformGlobal shortcut
WindowsCtrl+K
macOSCommand+K

Type semantic destination terms such as prepared data, provider import, study result, jobs, or AI models. Search matches the fixed public command registry's label, description, route, and keywords. Every query term must match the same command, and at most twelve results appear.

Use Arrow Down/Up to change the active result, Enter to navigate, and Escape to close. The palette searches destinations, not Dataset rows, Strategy names, Results, trades, or Activity contents. It navigates only; it does not create, validate, queue, cancel, deploy, or bypass a disabled reason.

Supported keyboard patterns

Only one global app shortcut is declared: Ctrl+K/Command+K. Do not assume Ctrl+S, Ctrl+P, single-letter navigation, or other desktop conventions exist.

ContextKeysContract
Focus traversalTab / Shift+TabMove through interactive controls in DOM/focus order
Button or linkEnter; Space where button behavior is declaredActivate the focused control once
Dismissible overlayEscapeClose the topmost dismissible dialog/menu/picker without accepting its primary action
Listbox or pickerArrow Up/Down, Home/End where exposed, EnterMove active option and commit an explicit selection
Interactive table rowEnter/Space where declaredSelect or open the focused row
Resizable separatorArrow keys, Home/End, Enter on resettable separatorsAdjust, jump to bounds, or reset with accessible value/label
Browser historyBrowser Back/ForwardRevisit accepted canonical routes, subject to unsaved-change guards

Keyboard activation never overrides validation, capability, permission, or destructive confirmation.

Layout and presentation controls

Reset layoutClears panel/split/column/navigation layout keysDoes not delete managed data or backend settings
Browser/OS zoomScales/reflows the workstationNo separate app zoom setting

The app currently runs in compact density; it exposes no app-wide density selector. Some components respond below 1024 pixels, but the supported workstation matrix begins at 1024 pixels.

Visited destinations remain mounted during the current session, preserving useful scroll, selection, and draft context. Data Manager and System & Jobs keep the last accepted subroute; Studies keeps subject-aware context. This state can become stale when another workflow changes the backend.

Use the active page's Refresh and reread identity/status. The URL is the inspectable route truth, but a deep link cannot restore deleted data, grant capability, validate a draft, or make stale evidence current.

Before sharing a deep link, confirm it encodes the intended object, version, subject, tab, and view. Unsaved-change guards can prevent navigation until the operator chooses to remain or discard.

Control-state meanings

StateMeaning
SelectedThe row/object is current UI context; no mutation is implied
DirtyThe owning draft differs from its saved version
DisabledThe action is currently unavailable; read the visible reason
LoadingThe owner has not finished resolving current state
PartialSome catalog/detail evidence is unavailable; do not assume hidden fields
Confirmation requiredA consequential effect needs explicit review; opening the dialog did not perform it
PendingThe operation was accepted but its terminal effect is unproven
RefreshedThe page fetched current owner state; it did not rerun research or reconcile an external provider unless explicitly labeled

Recovery map

  • Wrong remembered tab: choose the intended page tab; it becomes the new session memory.
  • Stale visible object: refresh the owner and verify exact identity/version.
  • Missing inspector: restore the labeled rail or inspect below the stacked main region on narrower widths.
  • Cramped workspace: collapse/resize navigation and inspector, then use Reset layout if needed.
  • Shortcut intercepted: use the top-bar command-palette button.
  • Back will not leave: resolve the unsaved-change confirmation rather than forcing the URL.
  • Deep link opens a default: the object/view parameter may be invalid or unavailable; return to the owning catalog and select it explicitly.
  • Focus disappears: close the topmost overlay with Escape, then restart from the top bar or primary navigation; report unreachable controls as a defect.
